1. How long does it take to have a web site designed?
The amount of time it takes to have a website designed is determined by the size of your web site and the complexity of your site design. Most often, a completion date is determined by the client. If you have a deadline in mind I will endeavour to meet it for you. The best way to speed up the web design process is by submitting your content (text/images) in a timely manner so it can be placed into your website.
2. What kinds of information should I put on my site?
That would depend on the goals of your web site. If you want to have a web presence for your business, you would want to include information about your products or services so that your customers feel confident in purchasing from you. While you can have as much information as you want, I recommend you gather a manageable amount for use on your website. I can use all your company's literature such as logos, brochures, etc. for incorporation into the new web site. For individuals or personal sites, it's up to you!
3. Will we need to have a meeting in connection with the website design?

In the majority of cases a meeting isn't absolutely necessary as we are generally able to complete a project through email and telephone only. However, I am more than happy to set up a meeting if you would like.

4. How much does a website cost?

There are quite a few factors that are going to affect the ultimate cost of your web site. These factors include how many pages you are going to have, if you will sell products on your website, the graphic work involved, and how interactive your web site will be. You will also need web hosting and domain name registration. I highly suggest you request a quote and I'll get back to you. I am able to accomodate my designs to most any budget.

5. I hear there are hidden costs associated with web design services. Is this true?

Not with me. We'll discuss your website requirements and then price accordingly. Customers usually put half down on their balance at the start of the development process and pay the remaining at the time of completion.

6. How do I update my website?

There are a few different methods which can be used to update websites. The method you choose is solely up to you although of course I will be glad to advise you which method will suit your needs.

It is usually most cost effective and easy to have me make updates through a web maintenence plan. If you require frequent updates or would like to update your website yourself, you may ask me to include a content management system where you can log in and make changes through your internet browser. Alternatively, you may use a desktop software program such as Adobe Dreamweaver ($399) or Contribute ($199).

7. In what format should I supply copy and photographs about my business for my new website?

It is helpful if you are able to provide text and photographs in electronic form - for example, the files output by a digital camera and the words in a Microsoft Word or similar format.

8. What services do you offer once my website design has been completed?

I offer maintenance plans to monitor your site as well as keep it up to date with accurate content. I also offer full time support and I am always available should you encounter any problems or require any enhancements. I also offer all inclusive and worry-free domain name registration, web hosting, and email plans.

9. Can I choose you to design my website and have it hosted somewhere else?
Yes, you can use any web host you like. Once your website has been completed you will have to provide me with your web hosting FTP login username as password so that I can upload your website for you.
10. How can I get my site to appear in search engines?

How fast and if your site is listed depends on many things. If you choose, I will manually submit your website to be indexed in Google and Yahoo. How long it takes to appear however is based on each search engine's database update schedule. Once your site has been submitted they may require several weeks, or even months to actually spider and list your web site in their directory.

All of my sites are designed with search engines in mind. I will employ the use of meta data and other on-page optimization features that make it easy for search engines to index your site.

11. Will everyone see my web site the same?

Your website visitors may see some things differently depending on their browser, screen resolution setting and their individual

computer settings and toolbars, however the differences are usually unnoticable. I take all the above situations into account when developing websites and test them in several situations before publishing.

12. Do you guarantee that my site will always be available?

No web hosting service can guarantee 100% uptime, however I can say that my servers have had 99.99% up time for many years. Should

there any problems we have the necessary backups in place to deal with the issue very speedily.

13. Who owns the website once the website design has been completed?

Once your payment has gone through, the website belongs to you. You may request a local copy of the website and it's supporting files and you have the liberty to use it how you want.

14. What if I do not like the design you suggest?

I want to be sure that you are completely happy with the final website design. If for any reason you do not like the design or do not like certain features, we will discuss what you would would like to see instead and then rework the website design and/or functionality so it is exactly as you wish.
